UEFA Champions League: Barcelona (Away) and Lyon (Home) Take Series Openers

The knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League got under way on Tuesday with the opening contests of two two-match series in the Round of 16.

At Lyon, France:



Alexandre Lacazette (that's him celebrating with teammates) scored the only goal of the match in the 58th minute as Lyon took game one of their series with APOEL FC 1-0 at home.

Alexis Sanchez scored twice (40', 54') and Lionel Messi put on the final touch (87') as defending champs Barcelona manhandled home-standing Bayer Leverkusen 3-1 on match one of their two-game series.
