The Chicago Fire Premier (PDL) defeated the visiting Milwakee-based Croatian Eagles (USASA) 1-0.
At Sanford, Florida:
In a battle of fourth-level clubs, Jacksonville United (NPSL), with goals from Tomislav Kruzanovic (PK-82') and Ramak Safi (89'), camr from behind and knocked off home-standing Orlando City U-23 (PDL) 2-1.
At Reading, Pennsylvania:
Reading United (PDL) downed the visiting New York Greek American Atlas (USASA) from Astoria, New York 2-1. Pedro Ribeiro (37') and Ryan Finley (55') scored for the hosts.
At Bethlehem, Pennsylvania:
The PDL's Long Island Rough Riders, thanks to goals from Thomas Wharf (19') and Shaun Higgins (22'), blanked home-standing FC Sonic Lehigh Valley(NPSL) 2-0.
At Germantown, Maryland:
With Scott Larrabee scoring twice (21', 46'), the Aegean Hawks (USASA) defeated the visiting Carolina Dynamo (PDL) 3-1.
At Conyers, Georgia:
Hailab Habtom scored the only goal of the match in the 105th minute as The Georgia Revolution (NPSL) blanked the visiting Mississippi Brilla (PDL) 1-0 in overtime.
Pontiac, Michigan:
Stefan St. Louis scored twice as The Michigan Bucks (PDL) annihilated the visiting Jersey Shore Boca (USASA) 6-0.
At Portland, Maine:
The Brooklyn Italians (NPSL), with goals courtesy of Nathaniel Simons, Christian Turizo, and Jumol Harewood, knocked off the Portland Phoenix (PDL) 3-2 on the road.
At Milwaukee:
Lebongang Moloto scored twice in overtime (102', 108') as the Des Moines Menace (PDL) knocked off the home-standing Milwaukee Bavarians (NPSL) 3-1.
At Laredo, Texas:
The Laredo Heat (PDL) doubled up the visiting ASC New Stars (USASA) 4-2 after Placide Buduri scored twice in overtime.
At Golden, Colorado:
The Kansas City Athletics (USASA) defeated Real Colorado Foxes (PDL) 3-1 on the road.
At El Paso, Texas:
The El Paso Patriots (PDL) advanced to the second round following their 3-1 home win over the North Texas Rayados (USASA). Naoyas Aizawa scored two goals and registered an assist for the Patriots.
At Turlock, California:
The Fresno Fuego (PDL), with Abraham Campos scoring both goals (47', 70'), blanked the Stanislaus United Turlock Express (the lone US Club Soccer entry) 2-0 on the road.
At Bremerton, Washington:
Cal FC (USASA), a one-year-old club built and managed by former US international and MLS striker Eric Wynalda, defeated the Kitsap Pumas (PDL) 3-1 on the road. Danny Barrera scored twice for the visitors.
At Portland, Oregon:
PSA Elite (USASA) from Irvine, California knocked off the Portland Timbers U-23 (PDL) 3-1 on the road. Davis Paul scored twice for the visitors.
At Fullerton, California:
The Ventura County Fusion (PDL) scored a record-tying four overtime goals and overran the Fullerton Rangers (NPSL) 6-2 on the road.
The second round of the tournament will take place with sixteen games as all the US-based second (North American Soccer League) and third (USL Pro League) division clubs entering at this point.
