MLS: DCU, Red Bulls, Goats Win On Five-Draw Saturday

Eight games were played on Saturday in Major League Soccer.


At Seattle:


Goals from Eddie Johnson (47') and Fredy Montero (89') carried the Seattle Sounders to a 2-2 road draw with the Vancouver Whitecaps in the opening match of the Cascadia Cup competition.  Alain Rochat (11') and Camilo Sanvezzo (81') each provided a goal for the Whitecaps.


At Washington:


Dwayne De Rosario scored twice (1', 43') as DC United defeated visiting still winless and pointless Toronto FC 3-1. 


At Montreal:


Dane Richards scored the winning goal in the 67th minute as the New York Red Bulls, despite finishing the game with ten men still defeated the Montreal Impact 2-1 on the road.


At Foxborough, Massachusetts:


Will Bruin (31') and Luiz Camargo (86') each tallied once as the Houston Dynamo gained a 2-2 road draw with the New England Revolution.  Saer Sane (PK-26', 56') scored both of the Revs' goals.


At Frisco, Texas:


Gabriel Enrique Gomez scored the equalizer in the 55th minute to lift the Philadelphia Union to a 1-1 road draw with FC Dallas, whose goal came in the 7th minute from Blas Perez.


At Commerce City, Colorado:


Tyrone Marshall (51') and Kosuke Kimura (59') provided the scoring as the Colorado Rapids came back from a two-goal deficit to gain a 2-2 home draw with Sporting Kansas City, whose tallies both came from Teal Bunbury (2', 14').


At Carson, California:


Jose Correa's penalty kick in the 72nd provided all the scoring as Chivas USA (designated the home club for this match) defeated the Los Angeles Galaxy 1-0 in the local Los Angeles derby (or Super Classico).


At Santa Clara, California:


Alan Gordon's late equalizer in the 89th minute lifted the San Jose Earthquakes to a 1-1 home draw with the Columbus Crew.  Justin Meram scored in first-half stoppage time (45'+2) for the visitors.
