Women's Professional Soccer, R. I. P.

The ongoing legal wrangling with an ousted owner may have put the final drain on what money the league had left.

Last year, WPS played with six clubs, all based in the Eastern Time Zone.  One of them, based in Boca Raton, Florida, was expelled after the season.

They had already cancelled their 2012 season with hopes to return for 2013.

This marked the second women's soccer league in the past decade to close up shop after having played three seasons.
