Adam Moffat scored the winning goal in the 76th minute as the Houston Dynamo defeated visiting (and ten-man) FC Dallas 2-1.
At Montreal:
Felipe Martins Campanholi (17'), Justin Mapp (51'), Andrew Wenger (58'), and Lamar Neagle (87') each scored a goal as the Montreal Impact made it a triumphant opener at renovated Saputo Stadium with a 4-1 domination of the ten-man Seattle Sounders.
At Foxborough, Massachusetts:
The contest between the New England Revolution and the visiting Columbus Crew ended in a 0-0 stalemate.
At Kansas City, Kansas:
C. J. Sapong (18') and Julio Santos Correa (35') each tallied once as Sporting Kansas City blanked visiting Toronto FC 2-0, spoiling John Mariner's debut as the Reds' new coach.
At Carson, California:
Fabian Espindola scored twice (40', 53') as Real Salt Lake dominated Chivas USA 3-0 on the road, stretching their unbeaten run to seven games while ending the Goats' six-match winning streak in all competitions.
