Europa League

29 games were played on Thursday as the third round of Europa League qualifying concluded.

At Zilina, Slovakia:

Nikola Pokrivac scored in the 50th minute, carrying HNK Rijeka to a 1-1 game-two road draw with MSK Zilina, enabling the Croatian club to win their two-match series 3-2 on aggregate.


At Bucharest, Romania:

Mirko Ivanovski (86') and Fwayo Tembo (89') provided the late scoring as FC Astra Giurgiu gained a 2-2 home draw in game two of their series with FK AS Trencin and a 5-3 series aggregate victory as they advance to the Playoff Round.

At Kazan, Russia:

Cesar Navas (18') and Roman Eremenko (86') each scored a goal as FC Rubin Kazan blanked visiting Randers 2-0 in game two and took out the Danish club 4-1 on aggregate.

At Tbilisi, Georgia:

Grigol Dolidze scored the only goal of the match in the 83rd minute as FC Dila Gori registered a second 1-0 win over Hajduk Split, this time at home, en route to a 2-0 series aggregate victory over their Croatian guests.

At Donetsk, Ukraine:

Despite dropping a 1-0 game-two decision on the road to Metalur Donetsk, FK Kukesi still won their two-match series 2-1 on aggregate.

At Haifa, Israel:

Rayo scored twice (41', 53') as Maccabi Haifa dominated visiting FK Ventspils 3-0 in game two and won the series 3-0 on aggregate.

At Poznan, Poland:

Rytis Leliuga scored what proved to be the series-winning goal in the 29th minute as FK Zalgiris Vilnius, despite a 2-1 game-two setback on the road against Lech Poznan, still won their series on away goals (the aggregate score was 2-2).

At Tel Aviv, Israel:

With Eric de Oliveira (34') and Alexandru Ciucur (50') providing the scoring, Pandurii Targu Jiu defeated Hapoel Tel Aviv 2-1 on the road in game two and eliminated the Israeli club 3-2 on aggregate.

At Krasnodar, Russia:

FC Kuban Kranodar defeated visiting Motherwell FC 1-0 in game two of a series that the Russian club won 3-0 on aggregate.  The Steelmen's Stephen McManus provided the only score of this contest with his own goal in the 51st minute.

At Chisinau, Moldova:

Brandao (29'), Romain Hamouma (39'), and Banel Nicolita (69') each scored once as Saint-Etienne posted a second straight 3-0 victory over FC Milsami Orhei, this time on the road, as they finished off the Moldovan club 6-0 on aggregate.

At Sundsvall, Sweden:

Chumbinho (41') and Reynaldo dos Santos Silva (50') provided the scoring punch as FK Qarabag blanked Gefle IF 2-0 on the road in game two and won their series 3-0 on aggregate.

At Ramat Gan, Israel:

Evandro Goebel provided the only goal of both the match and the series in the 11th minute with his successful penalty kick as GD Estoril Praia defeated Hapoel Ramat Gan 1-0 on the road in game two and by that same score on aggregate.

At Zurich, Switzerland:

Martin Frydek, Jr. (64') and Sergiy Rybalka (85') each delivered a goal as FC Slovan Liberec posted a second straight 2-1 win over FC Zurich, this time on the road, as the Czech club won their two-match series 4-2 on aggregate.

At Differdange, Luxembourg:

Omar Er Rafik scored in the 46th minute as FC Differdange 03 topped visiting Tromso IL 1-0 in regulation time of the second game.  With the aggregate score at 1-1, thirty minutes of what proved to be scoreless overtime were played.  In the penalty-kick shootout, the visiting Norwegian club won 4-3 to advance to the Playoff Round.

At Bursa, Turkey:

Aboubakar Oumarou (9'), Stojan Vranjes (29'), and Andrija Kaluderovic (83') each scored a goal as FK Vojvodina dominated Bursaspor 3-0 on the road in game two and won their series 5-2 on aggregate.

At Thun, Switzerland:

Sekou Sanogo scored the only goal of the match in the 69th minute as FC Thun defeated visiting BK Hacken 1-0 in game two and won their two-match series 3-1 on aggregate.

At Malmo, Sweden:

A 0-0 game-two stalemate on the road was more than good enough for Swansea City as the Welsh club (who plays in England's Premier League) finished their two-match beatdown against Malmo FF 4-0 on aggregate.

At Trabzon, Turkey:

A 0-0 game-two draw at home was good enough for Trabzonspor, who eliminated Dinamo Minsk 1-0 on aggregate.
At Arnhem, Netherlands:

Gheorghe Grozav scored the game and series-winning goal in second-half stoppage time (90'+5) as FC Petrolul Ploiesti defeated Vitesse Arnhem 2-1 in game two and 3-2 on aggregate to advance.

At Drammen, Norway:

Michal Hubnik (16'), Ondrej Vanek (81'), and Karel Pitak (90') provided the goals as FK Jablonec defeated Stromsgodset 3-1 on the road in game two and took out the Norwegian club 5-2 on aggregate.

At Aspach, Germany:

A 0-0 home draw in game two was good enough for VfB Stuttgart as the German club, thanks to the away goal rule, eliminated Botev Plovdiv. For the record, the aggregate score was 1-1.

At Belgrade, Serbia:

A 0-0 road stalemate in game two with Red Star Belgrade was good enough for FC Chornomorets Odessa as the Ukrainian club won their series 3-1 on aggregate.

At Podgorica, Montenegro:

Raul Rusescu (23', 39') and Jorge Andujar Coke Moreno (37', 60') each scored twice as Sevilla went on a five-goal first-half rampage en route to a 6-1 game-two road demolition of Mladost Podgorica
as the Spanish club took the series 9-1 on aggregate.

At Vienna, Austria:

Louis Schab scored twice (62', 85) as Rapid Vienna defeated visiting Asteras Tripolis 3-1 in game two and took out the Greek club 4-2 on aggregate.

At Liege, Belgium:

Frederic Bulot (53') and Igor de Camargo (70') each scored a goal as Standard Liege defeated Xanthi 2-1 for a second time, this time at home, and won their series 4-2 on aggregate.

At Trieste, Italy:

Antonio Di Natale (9'), Andrea Lazzari (82'), Dusan Basta (86'), and Matej Vydra (90'+4) each scored a goal as Udinese flattened visiting NK Siroki Brijeg 4-0 in game two and ousted the Bosnian club 7-1 on aggregate.

At Bruges, Belgium:

Waldemar Sobota scored twice (9', 76') as Slask Wroclaw gained a 3-3 game-two road draw with Club Brugge and eliminated the Belgian club 4-3 on aggregate.

At Perth, Scotland:

Milo Rnic scored the only goal of the regulation portion of game two in the 75th minute as FC Minsk took game two 1-0 on the road against St. Johnstone, and with the aggregate score at 1-1, forced the series into overtime, in which neither team score, forcing the issue to be settled in the penalty-kick shootout, which the Belarusian club won 3-2.

At Reykjavik, Iceland:

After Finnur Margeirsson's goal in the 27th minute enabled Breidablik to take a 1-0 regulation advantage in game two at home against FC Aktobe (thus squaring the series at 1-1 on aggregate), the visiting club from Kazakhstan, after 30 scoreless minutes of overtime, won the penalty-kick shootout 2-1 to advance to Friday's Playoff-Round draw.
