Matias Santos scored the only goal of the match in the 22nd minute as Montevideo Wanderers defeated visiting Palestino 1-0.



GROUP EIGHT:

At Avellaneda, Argentina:

Carlos Lobaton scored twice (58', PK-80') as Sporting Cristal knocked off Racing Club 2-1 on the road.

At Asuncion, Paraguay:

Federico Santander's penalty kick in the 39th minute proved to be the game winner as Club Guarani dominated visiting Deportivo Tachira 5-2.
