Ignacio Piatti scored twice (32', PK-84') as the Montreal Impact knocked off New York City 3-2 on the road, spoiling Frank Lampard's debut with the Citizens.
At Washington:
Chris Rolfe scored twice (42', PK-54') as DC United overcame a two-goal deficit and upended visiting Real Salt Lake 6-4.
At Chester, Pennsylvania:
Sacha Kljestan (PK-66'), Bradley Wright-Phillips (74', assisted by his newly-acquired brother Shawn), and Anatole Bertrand Abang (90'+4) each scored a goal as the New York Red Bulls defeated the Philadelphia Union 3-1 on the road.
At Foxborough, Massachusetts:
Charlie Davies scored twice (35', 62') as the New England Revolution downed visiting, ten-man Toronto FC 3-1.
At Orlando, Florida:
Cyle Larin scored twice (18', 53') as Orlando City scored five unanswered goals en route to a 5-2 home domination of the Columbus Crew.
At Kansas City, Kansas:
Ricardo Clark's equalizer in the 78th minute lifted the ten-man Houston Dynamo to a 1-1 road draw with Sporting Kansas City. Dom Dwyer scored in the sixth minute for the hosts.
At Commerce City, Colorado:
Thanks to goals courtesy of Sebastian Lletget (56'), Alan Gordon (69'), and Robbie Keane (90'+3) carried the Los Angeles Galaxy to their first road victory in nearly a year, 3-1 over the Colorado Rapids.
At Seattle:
Pa-Modou Kah scored twice (6', 49') as the Vancouver Whitecaps dominated the Seattle Sounders 3-0 on the road in a Cascadia Cup clash and took over, for the evening anyhow, top spot in the Western Conference standings.
