Two games were contested in Major League Soccer on Sunday.
At Harrison, New Jersey:
Steve Birnbaum (89') and Lamar Neagle (90'+5) each scored once in the final minutes as DC United came back from a 2-0 deficit to gain a 2-2 road draw with the New York Red Bulls. Gonzalo Veron (35') and Bradley Wright-Phillips (54') each scored once for the hosts in the latest edition of the Atlantic Cup rivalry.
At Carson, California:
Giovani dos Santos had a hand in all four Los Angeles goals, scoring in the 35th and 45th minutes (the latter resulting from a successfully-converted penalty kick) and assisting on goals scored by Alan Gordon (38') and Robbie Keane (70') as the Galaxy doubled up visiting Orlando City 4-2.
Landon Donovan, who ended his retirement this past week, entered the match for Los Angeles as a substitution in the 83rd minute.
