CONCACAF Nations League: Team USA Throttles Cup To Gain Berth In Semifinal Round; Bermuda Relegated To League B After Tough Defeat In Mexico; Barbados Promoted To League B

Group-stage play in the CONCACAF Nations League concluded on Tuesday with seven games.

LEAGUE A:

GROUP A:

At George Town, Cayman Islands:

Joshua Sargent (1', 66') and Jordan Morris (26', 39') each scored once as the United States routed Cuba 4-0 to win Group A and a berth in the semifinal round of this tournament.

The Americans had already locked up a berth in the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Final Group A Standings:

1. United States (GP: 4; GD: +12; PTS: 9) 
2. Canada (GP: 4; GD: +6; PTS: 9)
3. Cuba (GP: 4; GD: -18; PTS: 0)

The United States won Group A and a berth in the tournament's semifinal round; Team USA and Canada both qualified for the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup; Cuba were relegated to League B and will play in the second round of 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup qualifying.



GROUP B:

At Toluca, Mexico:

Carlos Antuna scored the winning goal at the death (90'+3) as Mexico came from behind to down scrappy Bermuda 2-1 at home.  The visitors were relegated to League B.

2. Panama (GP: 4; GD: -4; PTS: 3)
3. Bermuda (GP: 4; GD: -6; PTS: 3)

Mexico won Group B and qualified for semifinal round of this tournament; El Tri and Panama both qualified for the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup; Bermuda were relegated to League B and will play in the second round of qualifying for the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

At Gros Islet, Saint Lucia:

Nathan Pond scored the only goal of the match in the 35th minute as Montserrat gained a berth in the opening round of qualifying for the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup following their 1-0 road victory over Saint Lucia, who clinched relegation to League C.

At San Salvador, El Salvador:

Juan Portillo (16') and Pablo Punyed (87') each scored once as El Salvador blanked the visiting Dominican Republic 2-0.

Final Group B Standings:

1. El Salvador (GP: 6; GD: +9; PTS: 15)
2. Montserrat (GP: 6; GD: -1; PTS: 8)
3. Dominican Republic (GP: 6; GD: 0; PTS: 7)
4. Saint Lucia (GP: 6; GD: -8; PTS: 4)

El Salvador were promoted to League A by winning Group B while clinching a berth in the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup; Montserrat clinched a berth in the opening qualifying round for the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup; Saint Lucia were relegated to League C.

At Bridgetown, Barbados:

Hallam Hope scored twice (32', 90') as Barbados dominated the visiting Cayman Islands 3-0 to overtake their guests and win Group A and promotion to League B as well as gain a berth in the first qualifying round for the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

At Upper Bethlehem, United States Virgin Islands:

Yannick Bellechasse scored the winning goal in the 49th minute as Saint Martin held off the United States Virgin Islands 2-1 on the road in the tournament finale for both squads.

1. Barbados (GP: 6; GD: +10; PTS: 12)
2. Cayman Islands (GP: 6; GD: -1; PTS: 12)
3. Saint Martin (GP: 6; GD: -1; PTS: 9)
4. United States Virgin Islands (GP: 6; GD: -8; PTS: 3)

Barbados won Group C and gained promotion to League B and a berth in the opening round of 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup qualifying.



GROUP C:

At Bayamon, Puerto Rico:

Sidney Rivera scored twice (56', PK-67') as Puerto Rico dominated visiting Anguilla 3-0.

Final Group C Standings:

1. Guatemala (GP: 4; GD: +25; PTS: 12)
2. Puerto Rico (GP: 4; GD: -6; PTS: 6)
3. Anguilla (GP: 4; GD: -19; PTS: 0)

Guatemala won Group C and gained both promotion to League B and a berth in the opening round of qualifying for the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
