GABRIEL BARBOSA SCORED TWICE LATE TO PUSH FLAMENGO PAST RIVER PLATE FOR FIRST SOUTH AMERICAN CLUB TITLE SINCE '81

At Lima, Peru:

Gabriel Barbosa scored twice in the final minutes (89', 90'+2) as Flamengo shocked defending champions River Plate 2-1 to win their first Copa Libertadores title since 1981 on Saturday.

The match saw both the aforementioned Mr. Barbosa and River's Exequiel Palacos ejected via red cards later in second-half stoppage time.

Rafael Borre scored in the 14th minute for the Argentinian club.

The Brazilian club will now play in next month's FIFA Club World Cup, set to be contested in Qatar.
