UEFA Champions League, Group D: Juve Clinch Berth In Knockout Stage; Home Win For Leverkusen At Mattress Makers' Expense

Action from Group D in the UEFA Champions League continued on Wednesday with two contests.

At Moscow:

Douglas Costa scored the game winner at the death as Juventus defeated Lokomotiv Moscow 2-1 on the road to lock up a berth in the knockout rounds.

That's Doug (front), celebrating with teammate Paulo Dybala after scoring the game winner that sent The Old Lady into the Round of 16.

At Leverkusen, Germany:

Kevin Volland scored the winning goal in the 55th minute (shown here) as Bayer Leverkusen kept their knockout-stage chances (as well as Lokomotiv Moscow's) alive with 2-1 home win over Atletico Madrid, which prevented the Mattress Makers from joining Juventus in locking up a Round-of-16 berth.

In their one previous head-to-head encounter on September 18, Lokomotiv Moscow claimed all three points after their 2-1 road win over Bayer Leverkusen; the two clubs will play again on November 26 in the Russian capital.
