CONCACAF Nations League: Suriname Promoted To League A

Group-stage play in the CONCACAF Nations League continued on Monday with four League B contests.

LEAGUE B:

GROUP C:

At Willemstad, Curacao:

Daniel Bowry scored the winning goal in the 84th minute as Antigua and Barbuda defeated Aruba 3-2 on the road.

At Montego Bay, Jamaica:

Javon East scored the equalizer in the 50th minute as Jamaica gained a 1-1 home draw with Guyana.

Emery Welshman scored in the 45th minute for the Golden Jaguars, who secured a spot in the opening round of qualifying for the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Final Group C Standings:

1. Jamaica (GP: 6; GD: +20; PTS: 16)
2. Guyana (GP: 6; GD: +2; PTS: 10)
3. Antigua and Barbuda (GP: 6; GD: -9; PTS: 9)
4. Arbua (GP: 6; GD: -13; PTS: 0)

Jamaica won Group C and gained promotion to League A and a berth in the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup; Guyana gained a berth in the opening round of qualifying for the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup; Aruba were relegated to League C.



GROUP D:

At Roseau, Dominica:

Audel Laville scored the only goal of the match in the 71st minute as Dominica, already assured of relegation to League C, upended visiting Saint Vincent and the Grenadines 1-0, eventually costing the guests promotion to League A.

At Managua, Nicaragua:

Nigel Hasselbaink scored the game winner in the 53rd minute as Suriname won Group D and promotion to League A (and not to mention a berth in the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup) by knocking off Nicaragua 2-1 on the road.

Final Group D Standings:

1. Suriname (GP: 6; GD: +11; PTS: 13)
2. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (GP: 6; GD: +2; PTS: 11)
3. Nicaragua (GP: 6; GD: -2; PTS: 7)
4. Dominica (GP: 6; GD: -11; PTS: 3)

Suriname won Group D and promotion to League A as well as clinching a berth in the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup; Saint Vincent and the Grenadines clinched a berth in round one of 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup qualifying; Dominica were relegated to League C.
