Two East Region second preliminary-round contests, both originally scheduled to be played in Iran on Tuesday, took place on Saturday in the United Arab Emirates as qualifying for the AFC Champions League continued.
At Sharjah:
Amin Ghaseminejad scored the winning goal in the 83rd minute as Shahr Khodro defeated Al-Riffa of Bahrain 2-1.
At Dubai:
Cheick Diabate scored twice (27', 54') as Esteghlal dominated Al-Kuwait from (where else ?) Kuwait 3-0.
