Qualifying For AFC Champions League Opens

The first preliminary round for the AFC Champions League took place on Tuesday with four games.

West Region:

At Ahmedabad, India:

Mahdi Abduljabbar scored the only goal of the match in the 41st minute as Al-Riffa of Bahrain knocked out Chennai City 1-0 on the road to advance.

At Amman, Jordan:

Fahad Al Hajeri scored the winning overtime goal in the 119th minute as Al-Kuwait knocked off Al-Faisaly 2-1 on the road.



East Region:

At Manilla, Philippines:

O.J. Porteria scored the winning goal in the 79th minute to lift Ceres-Negros to a 3-2 home victory over Burma/Nyanmar's Shan United.

At Singapore:

Stefano Lilipaly (100') and Mohammad Saimima (115') each scored an overtime goal as Indonesia's Bali United knocked off Tampines Rovers 5-3 on the road.
