ANC: Algerians Pick Up Win To Stay In Contention

In Thursday African Nations Cup action, two contests from Group A took place in Luanda, Algeria.

In the opener, Rafik Halliche's goal at 43 minutes provided all the scoring as Algeria remained alive in the competition with a 1-0 win over Mali.

In the nightcap, Amado Flavio (48') and Alberto Mateus Conteir Goncalves Manuco (54') provided the scoring that propelled Angola to a 2-0 win over Malawi.
