FA Cup: Cottagers Blast Notts County; Two Draws Force Replays

Three games were contested Sunday in the Round of 16 in England's FA Cup competition.

At Bolton, England:

Kevin Davies scored at 34 minutes to give homestanding Bolton a 1-0 lead, but Jermain Defoe equalized at 61 minutes to enable Tottenham Hotspur to gain a 1-1 road draw and force a replay on Spurs' home pitch in London. Trotters' goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen saved Tom Huddlestone's penalty kick at 72 minutes to preserve the draw.

At London:

Simon Davies (22'), Bobby Zamora (41'), Damien Duff (73'), and Stefano Okaka Chuka (79') each contributed a goal to Fulham's 4-0 home fistbeating of League Two club Notts County. The Cottagers advanced to the quarterfinal round.

At London:

Aston Villa battled back twice from behind and wound up earning a 2-2 road stalemate with Crystal Palace. The homestanding Eagles from the League Championship got goals from Johannes Ertl (24') and Darren Ambrose (70'), while Villa were represented on the scoreboard by James Collins (35') and Stiliyan Petrov (87'). The two teams will have a replay at a future date at Villa Park in Birmingham.
