FA Cup: Easy Wins For Chelsea and Pompey; Birmingham City Victor Too; Two Saturday Draws Force Replays

The Round of 16 of England's FA Cup commenced with five games on Saturday.

At London:

Didier Drogba (2'), Michael Ballack (51'), Daniel Sturridge (69'), and Salomon Kalou (86') each scored once as Chelsea overpowered visiting Cardiff City (League Championship) 4-1.

At Southampton, England:

Portsmouth, in danger of going out of business this past week, put up an inspired performance in their 4-1 road win over Southampton (League One). Owusu-Abeyie Quincy (66'), Aruna Dindane (75'), Nadir Balhadj (82') , and Jamie O'Hara (85') each scored once for Pompey.

At Derby, England:

Scott Dann (73') and Liam Ridgewell (90'+2) provided the goalpower that carried Birmingham City to a 2-1 come-from-behind road win over Derby County of the League Championship.

At Reading, England:

In a battle of League Championship clubs, West Bromwich Albion and hosts Reading battled to a 2-2 stalemate. The host Royals were represented on the scoreboard by Jimmy Kebe (1') and Simon Church (73') while Robbie Koren (18') and Joe Mattock (87') each tallied once for the Baggies. The two teams will have a replay at West Bromwich.

At Manchester, England:

Ricardo Phillips' 57th-minuted equalizer canceled out Shawn Wright-Phillips' 11th-minute tally as Stoke City came from behind to gain a 1-1 road deadlock with Manchester City. The two teams will have a replay on the Potters' pitch at Stoke-on-Trent.
