The semifinal round of the Mexican Liga MX Apertura playoffs commenced with two games on Thursday.
At Mexico City:
Lucas Silva (54') and Edgar Benitnez (90') each scored a goal as Toluca took the opening match of their series with Club America 2-0 on the road.
At Leon de los Aldamas, Mexico:
Othoniel Arce (55') and Carlos Pena (57') each scored a goal two minutes apart as Leon blanked visiting Club Tijuana 2-0 in game one of their two-match series.
