EPL Action, Saturday, October 21

Five games were played Saturday in England's Premier League:

At London:
Goals from Andriy Shevchenko and Michael Ballack, two key summertime signings, led Chelsea to a 2-1 home win over Portsmouth.

At Birmingham:
Moritz Volz' equalizer at the end of the first half lifted Fulham to a 1-1 road draw with still-unbeaten Aston Villa.

At London:
Two struggling clubs, Charlton Athletic and visiting Watford, battled to a 0-0 stalemate.

At Liverpool:
Mikel Arteta and James Beattie (successful penalty kick) provided the offense in Everton's 2-0 home win versus Sheffield United.

At Wigan:
With four different goal scorers (including an own goal from Manchester City's Richard Dunne), Wigan Athletic scorched the visting Citizens 4-0.
