Two games were played Sunday as the Major League Soccer playoffs continued:
At Washington:
DC United, thanks to Christian Gomez's 86th-minute goal, tied the visiting New York Red Bulls 1-1 in game two of their Eastern Conference two-game total-goals series, enabling the four-time MLS Cup winners to win the series 2-1 on aggregate. This enabled DC to advance to next Sunday's Eastern Conference championship game, at home against the New England Revolution.
At Houston:
The Houston Dynamo, thanks to Brian Ching's goal nearly two minutes into second-half stoppage time, blanked visiting CD Chivas 2-0. This allowed the Dynamo to win the two-game Western Conference semifinal series on aggregate, 3-2. Houston next weekend will host the Colorado in the Western Confernece championship game.
