Recreativo Huelva paid their respects to the supporters who lost their lives in a traffic accident en route to the match in the best way possible as they pummeled Real Madrid 3-0. Florent Sinama Pongolle (35'), Ikechukwu Uche (52'), and Emilio Viqueira (90') provided the scoring for The Senior.
At Vigo:
Visiting Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo battled to a 0-0 draw.
At Santander:
Ruben Gonzalez (49') and Gonzalo Colsa (64') provided the scoring punch to lift Racing Santander to a 2-1 home win over Villarreal.
At Madrid:
Raul Tamudo (74') provided the lone goal of Espanyol's 1-0 road win over Getafe.
At Seville:
FC Sevilla, with Frederic Kanoute scoring twice (29, PK-64'), crushed struggling--- and visiting--- Deportivo La Coruna 4-0.
At Tarragona:
Marcos Assuncao's 64th-minute penalty kick provided the only score in a match that saw Real Betis pick up only their third La Liga win of the season, a 1-0 road win over Gimnastic de Tarragona.
At Pamplona:
Osasuna, thanks to goals from Cesar Cruchaga (57') and Roberto Soldado (69'), held off visiting Levante 2-1.
