Saturday Dutch Quartet

Four games were played Saturday in the Dutch Eredivisie:

At Groningen:

Second-half goals from Ibrahim Afellay (61') and Arouna Kone (85') lifted PSV Eindhoven to a 2-0 road shutout over FC Groningen to tighten their hold on the top spot in the Eredivisie standings.

At Breda:

NAC Breda came from behind to defeat visiting Excelsior 2-1 thanks to goals from Ronnie Stam (36') and Mike Zonneveld (66').

At Nijmegen:

Thanks to goals from Jonas Olsson (6') and Peter Wisgerhof (47'), NEC Nijmegen picked up a 2-0 home win over FC Utrecht.

At Almelo:

Haris Medunjanin's double (33', 45') helped lift visiting Sparta Rotterdam to a 3-2 win over SC Heracles Almelo.
