At Amsterdam:
Goals from Johnny Heitinga (55') and Gabri Garcia (90'), as well as Ryan Donk's own goal (58') enabled Ajax Amsterdam to take the home leg of a two-game total goals series with AZ Alkmaar, 3-0, and the series itself, 4-2 on aggregate. This enables Ajax to enter the third round of UEFA Champions League qualifying, and relegates AZ to competiting in next season's UEFA Cup.
