Houston and San Francisco FC Garner Goose Eggs; Islanders Belt Santos In Soggy Encounter

Group stage action resumed Tuesday in the CONCACAF Champions League:

Group A:

At Mexico City:

Cruz Azul bounced back from their road defeat from last week to deliver a frontier-styled fistbeating to visiting Deportivo Saprissa (Costa Rica) 4-0. Miguel Sabah (23'), Gerardo Torrado (54'), Pablo Zeballos (61'), and Cristian Riveros (67') provided the scoring punch for the hosts.

Group B:

At Panama City, Panama:

The Houston Dynamo got their group stage campaign off to a defensive start by holding Panamanian club San Francisco FC to a 0-0 deadlock.

Group D:

At Bayamon, Puerto Rico:

Thanks to goals from Noah Delgado (38') and Edwin Miranda (50') the Puerto Rico Islanders ripped off their second win in two Group D matches as they manhandled Mexico's Santos Laguna 3-1.
