The final weekend of group stage play in the 2008 CAF Champions League commenced on Friday:
At Omduram, Sudan:
A 2-2 draw on the road, thanks to Alain Djikadi's stoppage time equalizer, kept TP Mazembe alive in the race for a semifinal berth out of Group B, while at the same time eliminated hosts Al Hilal from the competition. The visitors from the Democratic Republic of Congo moved into second place in Group B and can advance to the semifinals should Enyimba FC from Nigeria (which, thanks to Friday's draw, has clinched a semifinal berth for themselves) win their Saturday contest at Garoua, Cameroon against Cotonsport Garoua.
