At Carson, California:
Thanks to goals from Alejandro Moreno (31'), Chad Marshall (53'), and Frankie Hejduk (82'), the Columbus Crew won the Major League Soccer championship for the first time in their 13-year history, defeating the New York Red Bulls 3-1, with John Wolyniec scoring the lone New York goal at 51 minutes. Guillermo Barros Schelotto, who was recently named the Most Valuable Player in MLS for the 2008 season, assisted on all three Crew goals. Here are the jubilant Columbus Crew players with the Philip Anschutz Trophy.
