Mexican Apertura Playoffs: Late Goals Salvage Series-Opening Home Draw For Jaguares; Road Win For Tigres

The opening weekend of the quarterfinal round of the Mexican Primera Division Apertura playoffs concluded with two games on Sunday.


At Tuxtla Gutierrez, Mexico:


Jackson Martinez (83') and Franco Arizala (90'+3) enabled Jaguares to come back from a two-goal deficit to salvage a 2-2 home draw in the opening contest of their two-game series with Santos Laguna. Felipe Baloy (4') and Oribe Peralta (33') each tallied once in the first half for the visitors.


At Pachuca de Soto, Mexico:


Hector Mancilla scored the only goal of the match in the 26th minute as Tigres took game one of their two-match opening-round series 1-0 on the road over Pachuca.
