UEFA Champions League Group C: Road Draw At Old Trafford Clinches Sweet Sixteen Berth For Eagles; Road Win Keeps Basel In Contention

Tuesday saw the resumption of action in Group C of the UEFA Champions League with two games.


At Manchester, England:





Goals from Phil Jones (OG-3') and Pablo Aimar (61') enabled SL Benfica to gain a 2-2 road draw with Manchester United and clinch a berth in the knockout stage.  Dimitar Berbatov (30', shown here) and Darren Fletcher (59') each scored once for the Red Devils.

Fabian Frei (10', shown here celebrating), Alexander Frei (14'), and Marco Streller (37') each delivered a goal as FC Basel kept their hopes of advancing to the Champions League's Round of 16 alive with a 3-2 road win over FC Otelul Galati.
