UEFA Champions League Group G: APOEL Clinch Berth In Knockout Stage

UEFA Champions League group-stage action continued on Wednesday with two contests in Group G.

At Saint Petersburg, Russia:


Zenit St. Petersburg Apoel Nicosia Flares

By holding hosts Zenit Saint Petersburg to a 0-0 draw, APOEL FC locked up a berth in the knockout stage, becoming the first Cypriot club to do so.  Referee Felix Brych stopped the match twice after the pitch was enveloped by thick smoke from flares lit by Zenit supporters, as shown here.

At Donetsk, Ukraine:


Hulk

Hulk (79', seen here celebrating) and Razvan Rat (OG-90'+2) provided the scoring that carried FC Porto to a 2-0 road win over Shakhtar Donestsk, keeping the Dragons alive for a berth in the knockout stage while eliminating the Ukrainian club from European competition.
