Mushaga Bakenga scored twice (35', 70') as Rosenborg defeated visiting Viking 3-2 in the Eliteserien season finale for both clubs on Sunday. The win enabled the Troll Kids to leapfrog to a third place finish. They and second-placed Tromso IL will play in the second qualifying round for the 2012-13 Europa League. Aalesund, who won the 2011 Norwegian Football Cup, will play in the Europa League's opening qualifying round. Molde FK, who won their first-ever league crown, will play in the second qualifying round for the 2012-13 UEFA Champions League. The bottom two clubs, IK Start and Sarpsborg 08, were relegated to the Adeccoligaen, or, the Norwegian First Division.
