CAF Champions League: Five Game-One Draws On Saturday

The first round of the CAF Champions League continued on Saturday with the opening contest of each of seven two-game series.


At Kampala, Uganda:


Aliou Bagayogo (16') and Bourahama Sidibe (25') each delivered a goal as Djoliba defeated Uganda Revenue Authority 2-0 on the road in the opening game of their two-match series.


At Harare, Zimbabwe:


Al-Merreikh gained a series-opening 2-2 road draw with FC Platinum.  Balla Gabir Kortokaila (18') and Mike Mutyaba (33') each tallied once for the visiting Sudanese club with the hosts got their scores from Mitchell Katsvairo (28') and Joel Ngodzo (51').


At Kitwe, Zambia:


Kabwe Kumuzati scored the equalizer in the 80th minute as Power Dynamos salvaged a 1-1 home draw in their opening match with TP Mazembe, whose Mbwana Samata scored in the 16th minute.


At Matola, Mozambique:


Takersure Chinyama scored twice (21', 52') as Dynamos gained a 2-2 series-opening road draw with Liga Muculmana.  Telinho (45') and Manuel Mario Mbalango (80') each tallied once for the hosts.


At Kigali, Rwanda:


The opening contest between APR FC and visiting Etoile  Sahel from Tunisia ended in a 0-0 stalemate.


At Bangui, Central African Republic:


Mudather El Tahir (15'), Edward Sadomba (54'), and Bakri Al Madina (68') each delivered a goal as Al-Hilal Omdurman found themselves halfway to the second round following their series-opening 3-0 road beatdown of DFC8.


At Brikama, Gambia:


Musa Bojang's equalizer in the 16th minute enabled Brikama United to salvage a 1-1 game-one home draw with defending champions Esperance ST.  Wajdi Bouazzi scored in the 4th minute for the visiting Tunisian club.
