UEFA Champions League: Series-Opening Road Wins For Galacticos and Chelsea

The quarterfinal round of the UEFA Champions League commenced with two games played on Tuesday.

At Nicosia, Cyprus:

Karim Benzema scored twice (74'[he's seen here celebrating with teammates], 90') as Real Madrid, after having been kept off the scoreboard for 73 minutes, ended up winning on the road, pulling away from APOEL FC 3-0 in the opening game of their two-match series.


At Lisbon, Portugal:

Salamon Kalou slides in a vital away goal for Chelsea

Salomon Kalou (shown here) scored the only goal of the match in the 75th minute as Chelsea took the opening contest of their two-game series with SL Benfica 1-0 on the road.
