Joao Paulo's late equalizer (90'+2) carried Apollon to a 1-1 home draw with Anorthosis on Sunday as the Cypriot First Division regular season drew to a close. Jan Rezek scored in the 25th minute for the Fighters, who finish fourth in the league standings and will play in the Championship Group with the three clubs that finished ahead of them, namely AEL Limassol, Omonia Nicosia, and defending champs APOEL FC. The winner there would compete in the second qualifying round for next season's Champions League, the second and third-place clubs, the Europa League's second qualifying round.
