Copa Libertadores: Penarol Eliminated

Three games were played on Tuesday as group-stage action in the Copa Libertadores resumed.


Group Five:


At Montevideo, Uruguay:


Tabare Viudez scored the only goal of the match in the 68th minute Club Nacional remained alive for a berth in the knockout stage with their 1-0 home win over Alianza Lima.

The match between Deportivo Tachira and visiting Club Nacional (Paraguay) ended in a 0-0 stalemate.

Matias Rodriguez scored twice (2', 90'+1) as Universidad de Chile climbed up to second place in the Group Eight with a 2-1 home win over Penarol, eliminating the Uruguayan club from the tournament in the process.
