Amway Canadian Championship: Goose Eggs For Impact And TFC; Whitecaps Take Series Opener In Edmonton

The Amway Canadian Championship began play on Wednesday with the opening contest of each of the two two-match semifinal series.


At Montreal:


The opening match between the Montreal Impact and visiting Toronto FC ended in a 0-0 stalemate.


At Edmonton, Alberta:


Eric Hassli (18') and Atiba Harris (41') each scored once as the Vancouver Whitlecaps took the opening match of their two-game series with FC Edmonton 2-0 on the road.


The winners of these two-match series would face each other in the two-game final with the winners to play in the group stage of next season's CONCACAF Champions League.
