At Wigan, England:
Emmerson Boyce scored twice (14', 79') as Wigan Athletic held off Wolverhampton 3-2 at home on Sunday in the English Premier League season finale for both clubs, and, for already-relegated Wolves, their final match in the top flight after three years. It was Terry Connor's final contest in his winless stint as Wolverhampton's interim manager. Former FC Copenhagen and FC Cologne boss Stale Solbakken takes over in July as they prepare for life back in the League Championship. The Lactics, who won seven of their final nine league games, secured top-flight survival last week with their victory over (also-relegated) Blackburn.
