Scott Nielsen scored the only goal of the match in the 67th minute as Crawley Town, in their first-ever season in the Football League, secured automatic promotion to League One on Saturday with their 1-0 English League Two season-ending road win over Accrington Stanley. The Red Devils, Swindon Town, and Shrewsbury Town will be playing League One soccer next season and will be joined by the winners of the promotion playoffs which will feature Southend United, Torquay United, Cheltenham Town, and Crewe Alexandra. Stanley finished 14th. Hereford Town and Macclesfield Town were relegated out of the Football League and into the Conference National.
