CAF Champions League

The first round of the CAF Champions League reached its' midway point on Wednesday with 12 games.

At Addis Ababa, Ethiopia:

KCCA of Uganda held hosts Saint George to a 0-0 series-opening stalemate.

At Lusaka, Zambia:

Richard McCreesh scored the winning goal in the 86th minute as Mbabane Swallows knocked off Zanaco 2-1 on the road in their series-opening contest.

At Casablanca, Morocco:

Ismail El Haddad produced a hat trick (75', 90', 90'+2) and Amin Tighazaoui added a double (16', 62') as Wydad Casablanca all but knocked Williamsville AC out of the tournament with their series-opening 7-2 annihilation of the Ivorian club.

At Dormaa Ahenkro, Ghana:

Stephen Adams converted his 72nd-minute penalty kick for the only goal in Aduana Stars' series-opening 1-0 victory over ES Setif.

At Lagos, Nigeria:

Chijoke Akuneto (PK-36') and Bashiru Monsuru (84') each scored once as MFM defeated visiting MC Alger 2-1 in game one of their two-match series.

At Machakos, Kenya:

Esperance de Tunis held hosts Gor Mahia to a series-opening 0-0 deadlock.

At Lome, Togo:

Kokou Gazozo (43') and Koidjo Sewonou (81') each scored once as AS Togo-Port blanked visiting Al-Hilal Omdurman 2-0 in their series-opening match.

At Ndola, Zambia:

Komlan Agbegniandan scored the only goal of the match in the 37th minute as ASEC Mimosas knocked off ZESCO United 1-0 on the road in the series-opening contest.

At Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of the Congo:

Ben Ngita produced a hat trick (37', 51', 62') as TP Mazembe demolished visiting SD Songo 4-0 in their series opener.

At El Jadida, Morocco:

Simon Msuva scored the winning goal in the ninth minute as Difaa El Jadidi defeated visiting AS Vita Club 1-0 in their series opener.

At Luanda, Angola:

CD Primeiro de Agosto took game one of their series with South Africa's Bidvest Wits 1-0 at home. Hermenegildo da Costa Paulo Bartolomeu (a.k.a. Geraldo) scored the game winner in the 87th minute.

At Kigali, Rwanda:

Hosts Rayon Sports and South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns battled to a series-opening 0-0 draw.
