UEFA Champions League, Group F: Shakhtar and Hoffenheim Battle To 2-2 Draw In Ukraine; Lyon Knock Off Citizens In Manchester

Wednesday marked the opening of Group F play in the UEFA Champions League as two matches were contested.

At Kharkiv, Ukraine (due to ongoing warlike conditions in eastern Ukraine):

Ismaily (27') and Maycon (81') each scored once as Shakhtar Donetsk gained a 2-2 draw with visiting TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.

Florian Grillitsch (6') and Havard Nordtveit (38') each scored once for the German club.

The players on the Ukrainian club are shown here celebrating after scoring as the came back from a pair of one-goal deficits to gain that draw.

At Manchester, England:
Britain_Soccer_Champions_League_01836.jpg Nabil Fekir scored the winning goal in the 43rd minute as Lyon held off Manchester City 2-1 on the road.

NOTE: TSG 1899 Hoffenheim had two goal road in their Wednesday 2-2 deadlock with Shakhtar Donetsk.
