MLS: Sounders, Impact, Crew, Hoops, LAFC, Caps, RSL Grab Saturday Wins; Red Bulls Clinch Playoff Berth Despite Defeat To Montreal; Quakes Eliminated

Nine games were on the Major League Soccer schedule for Saturday.

At Seattle:

Raul Ruidiaz (12'), Graham Zusi (OG-52'), and Nicolas Lodeiro (PK-56') each scored once as the Seattle Sounders stretched their MLS-era franchise-record winning streak to eight games with a 3-1 home win over Sporting Kansas City.

The Sounders' unbeaten streak now stands at eleven games.

At Montreal:

Rod Fanni (30'), Bacary Sagna (38'), and Ignacio Piatti (90'+3) each scored once as the Montreal Impact dominated the New York Red Bulls 3-0 on the road.

Despite the defeat, the Red Bulls became the first club to lock up a berth in the upcoming MLS Cup Playoffs.

At Foxborough, Massachusetts:

Lawrence Olum's equalizer in the 70th minute lifted the Portland Timbers to a 1-1 road draw with the New England Revolution.

Scott Caldwell scored for the Revs (whose winless streak now stretched to nine games) in the 58th minute.

At Orlando, Florida:

Dom Dwyer (9') and Scott Sutter (90'+1) each delivered a goal as Orlando City gained a 2-2 home draw with the Philadelphia Union.

Cory Burke (32') and Fafa Picault (88') each tallied once for the guests.

At Columbus, Ohio:

Harrison Afful (61') and Justin Meran (63') each scored a second-half goal two minutes apart as the Columbus Crew came from behind to upend visiting New York City 2-1.

At Frisco, Texas:

Santiago Mosquera scored twice (48', 51') as FC Dallas doubled up the visiting Houston Dynamo 4-2.

At Toronto:

Carlos Vela scored twice (23', 90'+4) as the Los Angeles Football Club went into Toronto and delivered a crippling blow to the Reds' playoff chances 4-2.

At Sandy, Utah:

Damir Kreilach produced a hat trick (45'+3, 61', 71') while Albert Rusnak added a double (14', 68') as Real Salt Lake demolished the visiting Los Angeles Galaxy 6-2.

At Vancouver, British Columbia:

Alfonso Davies (22') and Nicolas Mezquida (78') each scored once as the Vancouver Whitecaps made the San Jose Earthquakes the first club to be eliminated from playoff contention following their 2-1 home victory.
