MLS: SKC, Timbers Gain Saturday Home Wins; Citizens Gain Late Draw With DC With Gains Playoff Berth For Five Stripes

Three games were contested in Major League Soccer on Saturday.

At New York:

David Villa's equalizer in the 86th minute carried New York City to a 1-1 home draw with DC United.

Steve Birnbaum scored for the guests in the 58th minute.

The draw clinched an MLS Cup Playoff berth for Atlanta United.

At Kansas City, Kansas:

Felipe Gutierrez scored the only goal of Sporting Kansas City's 1-0 home win over sagging Orlando City in the 53rd minute.

At Portland, Oregon:

Jeremy Ebobisse (45') and Diego Valeri (65') each scored once as the Portland Timbers blanked the visiting Colorado Rapids 2-0.
