2007 MLS Playoff Commence

This past Thursday and Saturday marked the start of the 2007 Major League Soccer playoffs.

In the opening round, there are four two-game total-goal series.

Thursday's game at Bridgeview, Illinois:

Chris Rolfe scored the lone goal as the Chicago Fire took the opening match of their two-game set at home with DC United 1-0.

Here are the three Saturday games:

At East Rutherford, New Jersey:

The opening match of the two-game set between the New England Revolution and the New York Red Bulls ended a 0-0 stalemate.

At Frisco, Texas:

An unassisted goal from Clarence Goodson at 24 minutes lilfted FC Dallas to a 1-0 home win over the Houston Dynamo in the series opener for both clubs.

At Kansas City:

Davy Arnaud scored the lone goal (34') of a series-opening match that saw the Kansas City Wizards defeat visiting Chivas USA 1-0.
