Curtain Falls On Final Intertoto Cup: Rosenborg, Elfsborg Advance To UEFA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round; Stuttgart Advances After Overtime Win

Sunday marked the end of an era as the final edition of the UEFA Intertoto Cup came to a conclusion with all three series winners reaching the second qualifying round for the 2008-09 UEFA Cup:

CENTRAL-EAST REGION:

At Stuttgart, Germany:

VfB Stuttgart won game two of their series at home with Saturn Moscow 1-0 to deadlock the series 1-1 on aggregate. Stuttgart scored twice in overtime to take the series 3-1 on aggregate.

NORTHERN REGION:

At Trondheim, Norway:

Thanks to goals courtesy of Fredrik Stoor and Steffen Iversen, Rosenborg overturned their 1-0 road defeat of last week by defeating Dutch club NAC Breda 2-0 at home and taking their two-match set on aggregate 2-1.

At Liepaja, Latvia:

A 0-0 draw in match two of their series with hosts FK Riga was good enough for Swedish club IF Elfsborg to win their series on aggregate 1-0.
