UEFA Champions League: Spurs Take Series Opener At Milan; Valencia and Schalke Battle To Draw

The knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League commenced with the opening contests of two two-game Round of 16 series on Tuesday.

At Milan, Italy:



Peter Crouch scored the only goal of the match in the 80th minute (pictured here) as Tottenham Hotspur took the opening match of their two-game series with AC Milan 1-0 on the road.

At Valencia, Spain:



Raul scored the 71st goal of his illustrious European competition career in the 63rd minute (pictured here) as Schalke came from behind to gain a 1-1 series-opening draw on the road with Valencia.  Roberto Soldado scored at 17 minutes for the hosts.
