Copa Libertadores: The Strongest Prove Stronger Than Juan Aurich; Olimpia Top Lanus; Junior Come Back From Two Goals Down To Gain Road Draw

Three games in the Copa Libertadores group stage were played on Thursday.


Group One:


At La Paz, Bolivia:


Sebastian Gonzalez (26') and Pablo Escobar (not THAT one, 76') provided the scoring as The Strongest came from behind to defeat visiting Juan Aurich 2-1.


Group Two:


At Asuncion, Paraguay:


Maxi Biancucchi scored the winning goal in the 79th minute as Club Olimpia downed visiting Lanus 2-1.


Group Three:


Vladimir Hernandez (52') and Hector Quinones (60') provided the scoring as Junior de Barranquilla came back from a two-goal deficit to earn a 2-2 road draw with Universidad Catolica.  Felipe Gutierrez scored both of the Crusaders' goals in the 19th and 26th minutes.

1. Union Espanola (GP: 2; GD: +4; PTS: 6)
2. Universidad Catolica (GP: 2; GD: 0; PTS: 2)
3. Club Bolivar (GP: 2; GD: -2; PTS: 1)
