Jose Verdu Toche Nicolas scored the only goal of the match in the 62nd minute on Sunday as Panathinaikos defeated visiting AEK Athens 1-0 to close out Greek Super League Champions League qualifiers playoff action, enabling the Shamrock to finish at the top of the four-club group and lock up a spot in the third qualifying round (Non-Champions Path) for next season's UEFA Champions League (regular-season champs Olympiacos will be in the group stage).
AEK will enter the playoff round for a Europa League group-stage berth. Atromitos will enter that tournament's third qualifying round and PAOK will be in the second qualifying round.
