The quarterfinal round of the CONCACAF Champions League concluded Thursday.
At Torreon, Mexico:
With a second-half stoppage-time double from Carlos Quintero (90'+2, 90'+5), Santos Laguna overcame a deficit of 4-1 on aggregate, scoring four unanswered goals (all in the second half) win game two of their two-match set 5-2 and defeat the Montreal Impact in the series 5-4 on aggregate.
This sets up an all-Mexican semifinal two-match series between Santos Laguna and Atlante, with the opening match taking place at Torreon week after next.
With fellow Mexican club Cruz Azul in the other semifinal (playing against the Puerto Rico Islanders), there will be at least one Mexican club in the final.
