Two Kiwi Clubs To Play For Group A Title; All Group B Clubs Still Alive

Group stage play in the OFC Champions League resumed Saturday:

Group A:

At Port Vila, Vanuatu:

Thanks to goals from Christopher Bale (10'), Paul Seaman (55'), and Danny Hay (75'), defending champions Waitakere United won on the road, 3-2, over the Port Vila Sharks. The win sets up a showdown with fellow Kiwi club Auckland City to be played on April 5 at Henderson, New Zealand (Waitakere's home pitch), with the winner advancing to the two-match final (to be played on April 18 and May 2).

GROUP A STANDINGS:

1. Auckland City FC (GP: 3; GD: +9; PTS: 7)
2. Waitakere United (GP: 3; GD: +4; PTS: 7)
3. Port Vila Sharks# (GP: 4; GD: -13; PTS: 0)

Group B:

At Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea:

Kema Jack's successful penalty kick at 35 minutes lifted Hekari Souths to a 1-0 home win over Koloale FC to climb to the top of the Group B standings. Koloale FC will host Fiji's Ba FC on March 28 in the Solomon Islands, with the winner of that match advancing to the finals. It that match ends in a draw, then Hekari Souths would win Group B and advance to the O-League finals.

2. Koloale FC (GP: 3; GD: +1; PTS: 4)
