Crew and Dynamo Draw In Houston; Fire, TFC, Revs, Goats Win Openers

Five games were contested Saturday in Major League Soccer:

At Houston:

Guillermo Barros Schelotto's equalizer (81') enabled the Columbus Crew to begin defense of their league crown with a 1-1 road draw with the Houston Dynamo, whose Brian Ching had scored at 53 minutes.

At Frisco, Texas:

Goals from Justin Mapp (38'), Brian McBride (PK-51'), and Cuauhtemoc Blanco (90') powered the Chicago Fire to a 3-1 road win over FC Dallas.

At Kansas City, Kansas:

Amado Guevara's second-half double (53', 62') enabled visiting Toronto FC to hold off the Kansas City Wizards 3-2.

At Santa Clara, California:

Kheli Dube scored the only goal of the match (55') as the New England Revolution netted a 1-0 road win over the San Jose Earthquakes.

At Carson, California:

Paulo Nagamura's second-half double (55', 59') lifted Chivas USA to a 2-1 come-from-behind home win over the Colorado Rapids.
